WiFi Calling Not Working? Try These Tips - I recently encountered a frustrating issue when trying to use the WiFi Calling feature on my iPhone. 

For someone like me, who relies on WiFi Calling in areas with poor cellular service, this feature is a lifesaver. 

Unfortunately, when it stops working, it can be a bit unnerving. Thankfully, after some trial and error, I found several troubleshooting steps that worked for me, which I’d love to share in case you find yourself in the same situation.

Check Provider Support

The first thing I learned was that not all mobile carriers support WiFi Calling. Initially, I hadn’t thought about this, but it’s crucial to verify whether your carrier allows this feature. 

For example, in my area, WiFi Calling only works with certain providers. I use Smartfren, which happens to be compatible. If your provider doesn't support it, that could be the root of the issue.

Turn WiFi Calling Off and On Again  

One simple solution I tried was turning the WiFi Calling feature off and on again. It sounds basic, but sometimes that’s all it takes. Here’s how I did it: I went into my phone's Settings, scrolled down until I found the Phone option, and then tapped on WiFi Calling.

 From there, I toggled the switch to turn it off, waited a few seconds, and then turned it back on. When a confirmation prompt appeared, I tapped Enable. Surprisingly, this worked in many cases for me.

Restart the iPhone

Restarting the iPhone is another quick fix that often solves many issues, including this one. I simply went to Settings > General, then scrolled to the bottom and tapped Shut Down. 

I swiped from left to right to power off the phone. After a few moments, I turned it back on. Although it didn’t always resolve the problem, it’s such an easy thing to try that it’s worth doing.

Check WiFi Signal and Connectivity

Next, I ensured that my iPhone was connected to a strong WiFi signal. Since WiFi Calling depends on the internet, I made sure my WiFi connection was stable and capable of handling calls. 

If your WiFi is weak or spotty, this could interfere with the feature’s functionality.

Reset Network Settings 

At one point, I decided to reset my network settings. This helps clear up any issues related to connectivity, and it’s relatively simple to do. 

I went to *Settings > General > Reset, and then selected Reset Network Settings. Be aware that doing this will also reset saved WiFi networks and passwords, but it can fix stubborn connection issues.

Resetting the iPhone

In more drastic cases, resetting the iPhone to its factory settings might be necessary. I didn’t jump to this step right away because it wipes all data and apps from the phone, but it’s worth considering if nothing else works. 

Before doing this, I backed up my data to iCloud and then went to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.

Visit an Apple Service Center 

Finally, if none of the above worked, it’s possible there could be a hardware issue. In that case, I’d recommend taking your phone to an Apple Service Center or a certified repair shop. 

I haven’t had to do this myself, but it’s a last resort if the problem persists.

In conclusion, WiFi Calling is a convenient feature that can run into occasional hiccups. Hopefully, these tips help you get it working again as smoothly as they did for me!
