How to Lock ShopeePay with Face ID or Touch ID - As someone who uses Shopee regularly for online shopping, I've come to rely on ShopeePay for quick and easy payments. 

However, with the convenience of mobile payments, security is always a top priority. That’s why I decided to lock my ShopeePay account with Face ID on my iPhone. 

It offers an additional layer of security beyond the standard PIN and OTP. Here's my personal experience with setting it up, and I highly recommend doing the same if you haven’t already.

Why I Chose Face ID for ShopeePay Security

When I first started using ShopeePay, I relied on the basic security features like a PIN code and OTP verification. 

While these methods are effective, they don’t offer the same ease and speed as Face ID. The idea of being able to confirm transactions just by looking at my phone sounded like a game-changer, especially since I’m always juggling several things at once when shopping online.

Face ID offers a more seamless way to secure payments. In the past, I’ve sometimes struggled with typing in my PIN, especially if I was in a hurry or if my hands were wet. 

With Face ID, the process is smoother, faster, and, quite frankly, feels more futuristic. Plus, it’s reassuring to know that no one else can authorize payments on my phone without my face or fingerprint.

How I Locked ShopeePay with Face ID

Here’s how I went about setting up Face ID for ShopeePay. First, I opened the Shopee app, which is something I do frequently anyway. 

At this point, I was still using the PIN code for security, but I was ready for an upgrade.

Once in the app, I tapped on my ShopeePay balance to access the settings. It was easy to spot the settings icon, which is shaped like a gear in the upper-right corner of the screen. 

I tapped it and found the option for Face ID authentication. If you’re using a phone with Touch ID, you’ll see that option instead.

Activating the feature was incredibly simple. I just toggled the switch next to Face ID Authentication, and the app prompted me to enter my ShopeePay PIN to confirm the change. 

After that, I had to verify my identity with Face ID, which just involved positioning my face in front of my iPhone. Within seconds, it was set up!

The Benefits of Using Face ID for ShopeePay

Now that I’ve activated Face ID, using ShopeePay feels much more secure and efficient. Any time I want to make a payment or access my ShopeePay balance, all I have to do is look at my phone, and it instantly verifies my identity. 

This level of convenience and security is exactly what I needed, especially considering how often I shop using my phone.

In the past, I would occasionally fumble with typing my PIN, especially if I was in a rush. With Face ID, I don’t have to worry about anyone peeking over my shoulder to see my PIN or accidentally misplacing a code. 

My face becomes the key, and it adds that extra peace of mind knowing that my payments are locked down securely.

Setting up Face ID (or Touch ID) for ShopeePay was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my digital security. 

Not only does it make transactions faster and more convenient, but it also adds a critical layer of protection for my funds. 

I highly recommend that anyone using ShopeePay on an iPhone take advantage of this feature. Whether you prefer Face ID or Touch ID, the process is quick, easy, and incredibly effective in enhancing the security of your online payments.
