Why is The Battery Icon Yellow On iPhone
Have you ever wondered why your iPhone sometimes shows a yellow battery icon and sometimes a green one?
The question is actually answered quickly. The yellow icon is the indicator for the power-saving mode. We'll show you how to turn it off and on and how it might have turned on.

Yellow Battery Icon - Meaning
As already mentioned, the yellow icon signals the power saving mode, which can increase the runtime by a few hours.
This is achieved by temporarily suspending the operating system from background updates, automatic email retrieval, and other iOS features – at least until the iPhone loads.
The power-saving mode is often activated when the battery charge drops below 20 percent. If this happens, a notification about the low charge level appears.
If you now mistype, it can happen that you surprisingly find a yellow battery symbol. This is also maintained during the charging process until about 80 percent of the battery charge is reached.
Alternatively, you can manually deactivate the power-saving mode if you want to continue using all system functions.
To turn off the power-saving mode
- First of all, pick up your iPhone and open the Settings app.
- Scroll down a bit and tap on the "Battery" entry.
- Slide the slider next to "Power Saving Mode" to the left to disable it.
Alternatively, you can also put the power-saving mode in the Control Center. To do this, open the settings again and go to "Control Center".
Now tap on the plus icon in front of "Power Saving Mode". If you now start the Control Center, you will find the battery icon for the power-saving mode here. A tap on it activates or deactivates it.
