Customize your home screen

From the beginning, you could arrange your home screen yourself by sliding apps from A to B. Moving apps individually can be very tedious and is also extremely time-consuming. Apple, therefore, integrated the possibility to move several apps at once – for example, to a new folder. 

To do this, hold your finger on any app until the app icons start to wobble. Now let go. Hold your finger on the app you want to move and move it slightly so that it detaches from the home screen. Now you can tap apps with a second finger, which should also change the place. These are stacked behind the first app. Move them to the new location or to a folder, then lift your finger to drop the apps. Finally, tap "Done" in the top right or swipe up from the bottom.

Change the Safari theme

Apple has introduced a new design for Safari with iOS 15. Basically, it is practical and needs some getting used to, as the address bar is now at the bottom instead of the top. This has several advantages. You can reach them with one hand and a swipe will make you switch between multiple tabs faster. However, you can also change the design again. 

Apple provides you with several ways to do this. For the long way, open "Settings > Safari" and select the option "Single Tab" under the heading "Tabs". This moves the address bar back to the top edge. Alternatively, you can simply open Safari and tap "aA" in the address bar. In the context menu, select "Show address bar at the top". The settings can be reversed at any time if you still want to try out the new design.

Disable automatic macro photography 

As the first Apple smartphone, the iPhone 13 Pro has a built-in macro mode for photos. This will bring you particularly close to your subject. However, this is not always intentional, so the camera automatically switches to mode, even though you don't want it. Since iOS 15.2, you can change this and give yourself manual control. 

To do this, open the Settings app and go to the "Camera" entry. Scroll to the bottom end. There you will see the option "Macro Control". Activate it by dragging the slider to the right. If you now use the camera and get too close to an object, you will now see a small flower icon that indicates the activation of the macro mode. A tap on it disables it.

How to use the photographic styles in the iPhone 13

When you first launch the Photos app on your new iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro, you'll already be greeted by Apple's home screen, which informs you about the photographic styles and gives you a brief description of each of the five styles.
