How to Make Ringtone from Voice Memos on iPhone
Tired of the default ringtones from iPhone? You can find other alternatives by making voice memos in a ringtone without using the help of a computer.
Before you start, there are a few things to note:
- Make sure your iPhone is using iOS 11 or above.
- Voice memo recording takes no more than 40 seconds.
- GarageBand app (Free – 1.6GB).

Create Ringtone from Voice Memos on iPhone
- Open Voice Memos.
- Start recording the sound you want to make a ringtone.
- Swipe left on an existing memo, and select the More option (which is marked with 3 dots).
- Tap the Save to Files option.
- Open the GarageBand app.
- Tap the Project option in the upper-left corner.
- Tap the Loop option on the top right and select Files.
- Select the voice memo file just now.
- Tap the metronome option at the top (next to the stop button) and turn it off.
- Cut the recording to 40 seconds.
- Tap the downward (▼) option in the left corner and select My Songs.
- Tap hold on to the recording you created, then select Share.
- Tap on the Ringtone option and give it a name as you wish.
